Sapling Plantation Programme
Date: 26 April 2026
Venue: Morigaon H.S. and M.P. School

A sapling plantation programme was organized by the Lions Club Morigaon under Dist. 322-G with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and contributing towards a greener and healthier society. The programme was conducted on the boundary line of the field of Morigaon H.S. and M.P. School near Gandhi Bhawan on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

A total of 24 lion members actively participated in the programme. During the drive, 30 saplings of neem trees were planted along the boundary area of the school field. The members enthusiastically took part in digging, planting, watering, and arranging protective measures for the saplings.

Neem trees were specially selected for plantation because of their immense environmental and medicinal value. Neem helps in purifying the air, improving ecological balance, preventing soil erosion, and providing shade. It is also known for its antibacterial and medicinal properties, making it highly beneficial for human health and the environment.

After the plantation work, proper net fencing was attached around all the saplings to protect them from animals and ensure healthy growth. The initiative reflected the club’s sincere commitment not only to plantation but also to the long-term survival and maintenance of the trees.

The plantation drive concluded successfully with a message to continue working collectively for a cleaner, greener, and healthier future. The efforts of the lion members were highly appreciated by the local people and reflected the spirit of social service and environmental responsibility.
