Mosquito Net Distribution Programme

Date: 27th June 2026
Venue: Singimari Village

As part of its commitment to the Society, the Lions Club of Morigaon, District 322G, successfully organized a "Mosquito Net Distribution Programme" on 27th June 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Singimari Village, a flood-prone area of Morigaon inhabited largely by economically disadvantaged families.

The programme was undertaken with the objective of protecting vulnerable households from mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue, which become more prevalent during the flood season. By distributing mosquito nets, the club aimed to promote better health, safety, and well-being among the residents while reducing the risk of vector-borne illnesses.

A total of eight Lions members actively participated in the service activity, demonstrating their dedication to humanitarian service and community welfare. The members personally distributed mosquito nets, interacted with the beneficiaries, and emphasized the importance of proper and regular use of mosquito nets as an effective preventive measure against mosquito-borne diseases.

The programme reflected the Lions' global service theme of "Basic Needs", reinforcing the message that "Donations Bring Protection." A simple donation, such as a mosquito net, can provide lasting protection to vulnerable families, safeguard their health, and improve their quality of life, especially in communities facing economic hardship and the recurring challenges of floods.

The beneficiaries expressed their sincere gratitude to the Lions Club of Morigaon for extending timely support. The programme concluded successfully with a renewed commitment from the club to continue serving underprivileged communities through meaningful service initiatives that address their basic needs and contribute to a healthier and safer society.
